Garrett, CPA, was established as a Louisiana CPA firm to provide accounting, tax, and business advisory services to corporations, small businesses and individuals throughout St. Tammany Parish. We provide quality service for our clients by staying abreast of accounting and tax law changes and by taking a proactive interest in the smooth financial management of your business. At James J. Jim Garrett, CPA

Jim has provided accounting, tax and business advisory services to businesses and individuals since starting his firm in 1992.  During this time he has worked to help his clients reduce their tax burden and run their businesses in a more productive, more profitable way.  Jim shares with clients the knowledge he as gained from having worked with many successful businesses on what works and what doesn't. Jim has taught numerous classes ranging from cash flow planning to QuickBooks and, through his training, has empowered clients.  Recognizing that each client has unique goals, he tailors his services to meet your specific needs.  He understands the needs of the small business owner and enjoys being an integral part of their team.  He likes helping clients work smarter, not harder and looks forward to the opportunity to work with you and your business.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University in New Orleans.  He has worked both in the private and public sectors.  He was previously a controller for a large offshore oil service company and worked for two other local CPA firms before starting his own firm.  He attends numerous continuing education courses to keep on top of the latest tax issues and business information that can benefit his clients.  Jim is married to Cindy and they have three children.  Jim is an avid golfer, enjoys various sports and is active in his church.

Cindy Garrett

Cindy has been with the firm since it's inception in 1992 and she provides bookkeeping services for many of our clients, as well as payroll and preparation of sales tax returns.  Additionally, she handles many of the administrative duties.  She is a true asset to the firm.  Her friendly demeanor enables her to enjoy many friendships with clients.
